Jantavia Rottweilers Scotland are on the east coast of Scotland in the Scottish "Kingdom Of Fife". Rottweilers were not my first breed  as GSD's played a big part of my childhood from as far back as I can remember. My mother having GSD's although back then they were called THE ALSATIAN. The first memory I have that comes to mind of the breed is an old girl called Sheba. A retired ex police dog. Lovely memories of me as a youngster following her around the house, arms sometimes wrapped around her neck,  and others holding onto her long tail. Thinking back she had the patience of a saint!

When the time came for her to go to doggy heaven it was a really difficult time. She had been ill for a short time having treatment for cancer growths but not giving up on her maybe helped me as a youngster to understand the meaning, "Being cruel to be kind".

She was buried in the garden along with my budgie (Joey) and rabbit (Bugsy)

Sheba and many other GSD'S came and went over the years. GSD'S from famous affix's such as AMULREE

Amulree Nebraska (Skol) A lovely red sable dog. (A big strong dog with a heart as soft as a jelly baby) Having the experience at the tender age of ten years delivering new born puppies into the  world. Also having my first experiences of handling the Alsatian and presenting my standing efforts to those experts and shouting" is this how it is done?" will be times I look back on with affection.

I always thought and never imagined replacing  the  German Shepherd as my breed. I think as the years went by they became not how I remembered them. The lovely big strong head, bone heavy, strong backed and very powerful in appearance.

My first sight of a Rottweiler was a picture I saw in a book  my mother had in her collection of different breeds. I remember her trying to describe what a Rottweiler looked like before seeing the picture. We all know how it goes " They look like Dobermanns, only heavier set!"  A description we all hated when someone is either confused at first seeing the Rottweiler you proudly have at the end of the lead. I  said the same thing myself upon seeing a Rottweiler  picture!

I had to find out more about Rottweilers. I went along to my local pet shop and asked for a Rottweiler book, none to be found. I  decided to check out the library, I found  only one Rottweiler book but only general information. I decided I'd call the  The Kennel Club  I was given a list of club secretaries to ask for some information about the breed. I also went along to the local news agents and picked up a copy of the Dog World. I noticed a couple of Championship shows dates that I could go along to find out more. I spoke with a few Rottweiler breeders gaining knowledge about the breed. One Friday picking up the dog world I saw the picture ofa stunning Rottweiler  Champion Pendley Goldfinch who had recently been made up to a champion. Reading further into the article I couldn't believe it a daughter of his had just been mated to a big bold Rottweiler called Champion Panelma The Highwayman. I got straight on the phone and had a long chat with Teresa Killick of  Travillon Rottweilers. After a very long chat with Teresa I asked for some information to be sent on to me. I was delighted upon receiving the pictures, and advised of the best books ect to get. After sometime thinking, reading and talking to many people I wanted my first Rottweiler. I called Teresa and asked "could I please have a Rottweiler puppy?" and was once again asked one hundred questions. I finally collected my Rottweiler puppy  Travillons Bonnie Tyler of Jantavia at nine weeks old in September 1984. She was our foundation bitch who produced Jantavia Private Number of Armagret. ( 2 reserve cc's) Her sire was the Rottweiler I admired Champion Pendley Goldfinch. Her next litter produced Jantavia Private Benjamin Sired by Champion Varenka The secret Agent.

Benjamin was then mated to Nordling Royal Marine who produced Jantavia Private Diana ( 1 reserve CC) Who I might add on two consecutive years won her class at crufts. Diana was then mated to Champion Pendley Winston (who I might add I chose to be mated to her in the future, upon seeing him in a puppy class at a  the The Scottish kennel club Championship show in Edinburgh ( A scottish venue that has changed from these recent times)

She produced Jantavia Private Yesterday who went on to win his class at crufts also! along with Top Scottish Puppy. Other wins include best puppy in breed, best working puppy and reserve best puppy in Show at Darlington Championship show.

Diana also Produced Champion Jantavia Private Onyx  his brother Jantavia Private Quartz

1 CC and BOB owned by Dr KP Lim from Singapore.  Jantavia Private Solitaire they were Sired by Champion Fernwood Ganemede. Jantavia Private Solitaire produced Jantavia Private Echo owned by Sharon Black who mated her to Champion Earth Wind and Fire. The result I have at my feet now. His name? Pipenya Private Cruiser of Jantavia

Tommy to his friends he has a wonderful temperament and is an ambassador to the breed. He has done us proud in the  show ring and of course being the mad hatter at times.

We have silly photographs of him, but I'm sure he wouldn't be impressed if  displayed as I said although Tommy plays the joker, he has to retain his dignity.

We hope to see you around the shows.
